Waiheke Community Art Gallery - Te Whare Taonga o Waiheke

Unveiling Waiheke's Creative Soul at Waiheke Community Art Gallery

What to do on Waiheke Island?, add a 'must visit' to the Waiheke Community Art Gallery to your list!

Only thirty-five minutes from downtown Auckland by ferry, Waiheke is home to a lively community of New Zealand artists, painters, sculptors, jewelers, photographers, ceramicists and more. There is always something new to see or be inspired by. Established in 1995 as a not-for-profit society, Waiheke Community Art Gallery promotes the visual arts and arts-related activities on our island and to visitors from across the world.

We’re open 363 days a year, with a diverse exhibition program displaying the work of more than 100 local and New Zealand artists annually. Our two national award exhibitions (Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award for 2D work, and the Small Sculpture Prize for 3D small works) attract entries from all over New Zealand. We have a wonderful Gallery shop that features high-quality Waiheke ceramics, jewelry and handcrafted artworks from around New Zealand.
