The Alembics Lab is a workspace for aromatic distillation and botanical learning. We teach people the fundamentals of distillation—for aromatic spirits, hydrosol (aromatic water-based products) and essential oils—as well as how to work with natural aroma and flavour for food, drink and cosmetics. We offer product development consultations for businesses and individuals, and also run online courses and in-person workshops.
This winter we are hosting three of our most popular in-person workshops on Waiheke (June 29, July 20 and Aug 29). Join us for one of these full-day workshops, and immerse yourself in the art and science of distillation. Our workshops will teach you the three main techniques of aromatic distilling—hydro, steam and alcohol distillation—and show you how achievable it is to distil on a small-scale, sustainable basis.
